Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag (AVV)

Data Processing Agreement under German law · Art. 28 GDPR

The Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag("AVV") is the German-law contract that governs our processing of personal data on your behalf under Art. 28 GDPR. It is functionally equivalent to our English DPA but written in German, per the preference of most DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) data protection authorities and corporate legal teams.

Which document should I use?

  • DACH customers:Please use the German AVV. It is drafted in line with standard BITKOM/BvD templates and the formal language expected by German supervisory authorities.
  • Other customers:Please use the English Data Processing Agreement. It covers the same Art. 28 GDPR obligations plus CCPA provisions.

Need a signed copy?

DACH customers can electronically accept the AVV directly from their dashboard (Settings → Billing → Rechtliches). For a manually countersigned PDF on company letterhead, email legal@akol.ai.
